What is LITERACYcentral Pathways?

LITERACYcentral Pathways is a flexible, research-based service that helps grades 6-8 educators build strong literacy practices. Districts can select individual pathways based on specific needs or bundle multiple pathways into a customized, cohesive literacy system. Each pathway includes complete instructional resources, targeted video learning, clear routines and structures, and embedded support for collaborative planning that balances learning and doing so teachers can confidently implement high-quality, TEKS-aligned Tier 1 literacy instruction.

Available Pathways

  • Word Study (Including Phonics and Fluency) – Strengthens vocabulary development, word analysis, and fluency to support students’ ability to access increasingly complex texts
  • Core Reading Comprehension Routines – Focuses on explicit comprehension strategies and routines that help students construct meaning, think critically, and engage deeply with text
